A Guide to Submitting an Abstract for the WACCBIP Research Conference 2023

The WACCBIP Research Conference 2023, organized by the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), is fast approaching. Taking place from July 26-28, 2023, the conference aims to explore the theme of “Innovative Research for Sustainable Impact.”

This year’s conference will be a hybrid event, combining in-person and virtual components. The in-person segment will be hosted at the WACCBIP Conference Hall, located at the University of Ghana in Accra. Simultaneously, the virtual component will provide accessibility to participants worldwide.

The conference is currently accepting abstract submissions for presentations. To ensure your chance to share your research and insights, adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Locate and click on the “Submit an Abstract” link at the bottom of this page.
2. Complete the abstract submission form provided.
3. Attach your abstract file.

The abstract submission form will request the following details:

• Title of your presentation
• Author(s) of your presentation
• Affiliation(s) of your author(s)
• Keywords for your presentation
• A brief description of your presentation (350 words or fewer)

Please note that your abstract file should be either a Microsoft Word or PDF document. The size of the file should not exceed 2 MB.

After submitting your abstract, an email confirmation will be sent to you, containing information regarding the status of your submission.

To ensure a smooth submission process, keep the following additional details in mind:

• The deadline for abstract submission is May 31, 2023.
• Abstracts must be written in English.
• The length of the abstract should not exceed 350 words.
• Format your abstract as follows:
  • Title of your presentation
  • Author(s) of your presentation
  • Affiliation(s) of your author(s)
  • Keywords for your presentation
  • A brief description of your presentation (350 words or less)
• Abstracts should be submitted as either Microsoft Word or PDF documents.
• The file size of your abstract must not exceed 2MB.
