Graduate Position in Structural Biology

The research group of David Haselbach has an open position for a Master´s student at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) to study the dynamics of macromolecular machines using single-particle cryo-EM.
Project:
The successful candidate will be involved in a project that focuses on the structural dynamics of the substrate processing proteasome. He/she will be introduced to protein purification, biochemical binding and activity assays, and single-particle transmission electron microscopy. Applicants interested in cell biology may also be involved in the generation of CRISPR/Cas9 knockout cell lines and proteomic screens.
Requirements:
The ideal applicant is highly motivated, has wet lab experience, and is familiar with basic stoichiometry. Being able to read scientific publications, discuss experimental setups, and work independently are essential requirements. Applicants with a strong interest in protein biochemistry and/or cell biology are favoured.
The position is available from now on and remains open until filled. The successful applicant will receive a monthly stipend.
