PhD Position in the Evolution of Plant Pathogen Virulence

Positions by 99Science

I’m looking for a PhD student to join my lab at Auburn University and work on the evolution of virulence in insect-vectored plant pathogens. We’ll be applying and extending the evolutionary theory to increase the sustainability of agriculture. It’s a collaborative project with opportunities for experimental research involving a bacterial pathogen (Xylella fastidiosa), their sap-sucking insects vectors, and some of their host plants. If you’re interested, before the end of February, please send me an email with your CV and any questions you might have about the position.

The position starts in August 2022. It comes with a renewable twelve month stipend, health insurance, and a tuition waver.

Candidates who would add to the ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic diversity of the academy are strongly urged to apply.

Cheers!
